Family Branches

Weimar and Margaret had nine children

How to know which branch is yours?

Every year when you come to Family Meeting you will be asked which branch of the Siler Family is yours. If you don't know, your older relatives probably do! If you are interested in family history, ask your parents and grandparents about the family history and try to follow your family back through the generations until you hit one of the branches shown above, i.e. one of Weimar and Margaret's children. As far as we know, the only one who didn't have any children was Thomas, who died very young and unmarried. As you follow your family back through time with help from your older relatives, you should be able to connect to one of your ancestors in the green book, The Family of Weimar Siler 1755-1831, by Leona Bryson Porter. All Weimar and Margaret's descendants are listed by branch up to about 1950. The book was published in 1951, so births, deaths, and marriages after that date are not listed in the book. If your family does not have a copy of The Family of Weimar Siler 1755-1831, you can find a digitized copy on the Hathi Trust website. Search for the title of the book and click on "Full View."
