Welcome to the new Siler Family website and blog! The site has been created for the many generations of descendants of Weimar and Margaret (Rafferty) Siler of Macon County, North Carolina.
We hope you will find the new site easy to navigate. For the first time, you will now be able to use the site on your favorite electronic device, whether that's a smartphone, tablet, or computer. We have also added the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate, so that you can be sure that you enter a safe and secure site.
As before, you will find all the necessary details regarding the annual Family Meeting, and you will still be able to report family milestones - births, deaths, marriages - via the online forms. It is extremely helpful for the Outreach Committee to have all your information in print. Laurie Kinnebrew heads the committee and all forms are submitted directly to her. Your private information is secure and kept only for family historical and genealogical purposes. Your information will never be shared or sold.
Because we want the site to be easy to navigate, and also easy to maintain, all the photos and documents that you could find on the old site are now gone. The old site was getting very cumbersome with too many archived pages of photos and documents. Instead we have created a Siler Family account at Instagram, where we will be adding family photos and other items of interest. We also plan to add a Pinterest account. Instead of having many pages with historical and genealogical information, we want to use the blog to engage with the family by publishing posts on Siler history and genealogy.
Though the site is for descendants of Weimar and Margaret, we welcome visits from cousins near and far. There are many Silers all over the country who descend from Plikard and Elizabeth's other children. We hope you stop by.
